Psychodynamic Approaches to Work with Children, Adolescents, and Families

10-session seminar beginning October 2017

In this course, Instructors Sydney Anderson, Ph.D. and William Tedford, M.D. will discuss a number of topics related to the psychodynamic treatment of children and adolescents. These include psychodynamic case formulation, conceptualization of the aims and means of treatment in light of this formulation, and technical aspects of the early meetings with parents in children. We will also explore the topics of resistance, transference, and countertransference. The seminar will combine discussion of readings and clinical material.
