Tillie Krug Child Analytic Training Program (CATP)
The Tillie Krug Child Analytic Training Program (CATP) provides post-graduate training in child analysis for persons who are adult psychoanalysts or candidates in adult psychoanalysis. The training program is offered through the Southeastern Child Analytic Consortium, which is a collaborative program of CPI and the New Orleans-Birmingham Psychoanalytic Center.
The program includes a three-year curriculum. Didactic courses cover the topics of child and adolescent psychopathology as well as the theory and technique of child and adolescent psychoanalysis. There are 36 weeks of classes each year, and the classes meet for 1 1/2 hours weekly via televideo technology. Following completion of the three-year curriculum, candidates participate in a monthly study/readings group led by a faculty member of the Consortium, and are encouraged to continue their participation in this group through the time of graduation. In addition, child candidates receive weekly supervision from Consortium faculty members from the time of matriculation and through graduation.
