Cincinnati Psychoanalytic Institute Board of Trustees
FACULTY COMMITTEES
THE EDUCATION COMMITTEE- is the responsible executive and policy-making arm of the Institute in matters related to candidate education, training and progression, including maintaining the guidelines and regulations of the Board of Professional Standards (BOPS) of the American Psychoanalytic Association. The EC also maintains various communications with the Institute's Board of Trustees. The standing subcommittees mandated by BOPS (and described below) are accountable to the Education Committee Chair, Dr. Sam Robertson. THE PROGRESSION COMMITTEE - comprised of the faculty's Training Analysts, reviews each candidate's progress annually and assesses suitability for progression and graduation. THE CHILD COMMITTEE- serves to develop the beginning Tillie Krug Child Analytic Program of CPI, consulting with our geographic child supervisors as well as coordinating with the American Psychoanalytic Association's Board on Professional Standards (BOPS) and its subcommittee: the Committee on Child and Adolescent Analysis (COCAA). THE ADMISSIONS COMMITTEE- processes applications for acceptance as candidates, assesses suitability, and confirms eligibility. THE CURRICULUM COMMITTEE- designs, plans and coordinates the curriculum throughout the five-year core didactic program as well as the post-fifth clinical seminar and has responsibility for the assignments of faculty instructs. It also coordinates the inter-trimester Faculty-Candidate Workshops. There is usually a candidate representative from each class on the Committee. THE FACULTY DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE- serves to oversee faculty development and make recommendations to the Education Committee concerning optimizing faculty development. This committee attempts to encourage and facilitate mentoring of newer faculty members and provide a generative spirit throughout the faculty community.
