Institute technology update

As we better equip ourselves to achieve our mission of educating the Greater Cincinnati mental health community about the benefits of psychoanalytic knowledge, the Institute has taken several technological strides we’re very excited about. First of all, we have now equipped our library with a fully digital check-out system including a computer for self-check out. This should make it much easier for our library members to utilize all the excellent literary resources available, as well as increase the efficiency of keeping books in rotation.
Second, we are encouraged by the fact that the Southeast Child Analytic Consortium has successfully launched its first class, providing interested candidates from as far away as Miami, Houston and Atlanta the opportunity to learn from veteran instructors and each other through the strategic use of webcam and conference call technology. There is little doubt that this program, and others like it, will greatly influence the training of future psychoanalyst and we are pleased to be on the forefront of this trend.
Finally, we are getting closer to providing videoconferencing capability throughout the entire Institute! We hope to complete the process in the next two months, allowing us to better serve our more distant students, faculty and candidates. Please stay tuned for this and more exciting technology news as we continue through the academic year.
