The Cincinnati Psychoanalytic Institute (CPI) is a non-profit organization dedicated to excellence in the learning, teaching, and application of psychoanalytic knowledge.
CPI is an educational institution that offers post-graduate training to mental health professionals. Our educational programs – unique in the Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana tri-state area – are psychoanalytically focused and committed to the importance of depth understanding in therapeutic efforts to make lasting change possible in the lives of patients. CPI provides intensive training in adult and child psychoanalysis, as well as programs dedicated to psychoanalytic psychotherapy for both adults and children. In addition, we offer regular programs and events that explore vital clinical issues–as well as others that look at the arts, music, literature, and societal issues–from a psychoanalytic point of view.
Our curricula are designed for mental health professionals who are interested in deepening and clarifying their understanding of the inner lives of their patients and clients, and who want to learn more about how to translate that understanding into the moment-to-moment listening and interaction of psychoanalytically oriented clinical work.
